Volunteer
Volunteers make a significant impact at CityHouse. We know how challenging it can be for the families who find themselves in need of the services we provide, and your words and actions go a long way toward helping them create a better future. We hope that you dedicate your time to CityHouse. We couldn't offer ongoing support without you.
CityHouse offers several types of opportunities for volunteers. On this page, you will find all the information you need to learn about our volunteer opportunities and the resources you will need to get started. Before completing an application, it is important that you understand some important information about becoming a volunteer.
Criminal Background Check: Volunteers who have direct contact with the families, must agree to a background check. Volunteers who are 17 years of age or younger must send a recommendation letter to hello@cityhousedelray.com.
Orientation and Training: All volunteers must participate in the training videos located in our portal. It will take around an hour of your time.
Confidentiality: In the course of volunteering, you may be dealing with confidential information about others. You must be willing to agree to keep such information in the strictest confidence.
Health Concerns: If you are not feeling well, please stay home.
Thank you for your patience and we are looking forward to having you serve with us.
Childcare
We are looking for loving, caring caregivers who can commit time to watch the CityHouse children while the mothers work, go to doctor's appointments, or attend enrichment classes.
Cook Meals
Volunteers are needed to drop off a warm meal for a CityHouse family. As our mothers balance work and school, they do not have the time and energy to make a healthy meal.
Tutoring
We are looking for volunteers that can do tutoring after school or weekends. Academic levels include PreK-12th grade. Includes all subjects and GED Prep.
Prayer partners are needed to join the CityHouse Prayer Gathering. They meet on a quarterly basis from 9 AM- 10 AM on Saturdays.
Teaching
Do you have a favorite hobby or skill? Come teach a class for our families.
City Pantry
Volunteers are needed to help restock and organize the CityHouse pantry with essential items such as cleaning products, paper products, pullups, feminine hygiene products, and laundry detergent.
Transportation
We are in need of volunteers who are willing to provide transportation assistance for the families. This includes trips to work, grocery stores, doctor's appointments, and picking up their children from school or daycare.
Property Maintenance
There are opportunities for either ongoing maintenance and landscaping or a one-time group workday.
Event Planning
CityHouse plans multiple fundraising events throughout the year and we need your help.
City Closet
We are looking for volunteers to organize the closet or hold a women's clothing drive in the local community.
